Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender (LGBT)
If you are LGBT and use tobacco, you should know that smoking is a major
health concern for the LGBT community, which smoking rates approximately
two times higher than in the straight population. Smoking weakens the
immune system of those infected with HIV, making it harder to fight off
opportunistic infections. LGBT smokers tend to make fewer quit attempts
than straight smokers.
There are programs and resources that can help you quit tobacco.
